_I had the idea for this cake for a long time. Wanted to try it last Mother's Day but never got around to it. So Heidi came to me an the idea of doing a anniversary cake for her parent's 30th anniversary. She said that her parent's went to Holland for their honeymoon and they love Dutch potteries and orchids... so I had to sell her the design immediately and good thank she liked it! The flower pot itself is a lemon cake with strawberry butter cream and its hand painted to look like the Dutch style pottery. I had asked Heidi to send me a photo of her parents so I could include it in the painting. But since I love my new edible printing so much, I decided to include a small framed photo of their actual wedding picture (you will see more of the edible imaging in my next cake). And in my research, I found out that pearl is for the 30th milestone so I included a single pearl and a gum paste seashell by the photo. Everything in this cake is edible except for the supports.  My family walked right passed it and didn't realize it wasn't a real plant.  With my original idea, it was just a flower plant cake, now it actually tells a story.  That's what I love about it!

could not tell that this was a cake at all, except, well, this being your cake site.
the roots, the wood chips, the faded blue ceramic paint .. genius idea and flawless execution.

This is a brilliant cake! With a phalaenopsis orchid in bloom at the moment, compared with this cake, your cake is wonderful.
